Emails

Overview

Connect mailboxes so Audience conversations, campaigns, and transactional sends can go out as your brand and, for SMTP / IMAP, sync inbound mail into Conversations. The app offers two connection styles side by side, then lists Connected email accounts and optional Email settings (signature and sender name) per account.

Professional Email

Use this path for a workspace sending identity backed by your own domain (the product labels it Professional Email in the UI). It suits newsletters, campaigns, and transactional mail. Connecting asks for an email address and sends a verification message you must complete.

After it appears in Connected email accounts, open Configure SPF / DKIM / DMARC for copy-and-paste DNS values on separate tabs. Merge an existing SPF record carefully if you already publish one, and add DKIM CNAME rows when the app lists them. Badges for SPF, DKIM, and DMARC help you track those records; until Professional Email domain authentication looks complete, the UI may warn that sending stays disabled.

With several active team members, Professional Email is the shared workspace mailbox; everyone uses the same sending identity.

SMTP / IMAP

The second card's button opens a dialog to connect SMTP (sending) and IMAP (inbox sync): hosts, ports, usernames, and passwords for both sides. Entering a common provider address (for example Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, iCloud, ProtonMail, or Zoho) auto-fills typical host and port values; you can still edit them for a custom host.

A TLS / SSL switch matches how your provider expects the connection (for example port 587 with STARTTLS vs 465 with implicit SSL). Some providers require an app-specific password—follow the in-dialog setup link when shown.

This path syncs the inbox for one-to-one threads in Conversations. With multiple team members, it is personal: each person connects their own mailbox.

Limits, workspace, and disconnect

How many mailboxes you can attach depends on your plan (for example one on lighter tiers, more on higher ones). At the limit, connect buttons disable and an Upgrade shortcut points to Subscription.

You need an active workspace context before Professional Email can connect; without it, the button explains to select a workspace first.

Each connected row shows the address, provider label, and connection date; the first row shows a primary badge. Disconnect asks for confirmation and calls the server to remove the link.

Email settings (signature and sender name)

When at least one account exists, choose the account, set Sender name, and edit Signature in the rich editor. Save email settings stores both for that mailbox via the signature API.

Note
Wrong SPF, DKIM, or DMARC can land mail in spam or block sending entirely. After DNS changes, allow time for propagation before judging the status badges.
