Today

What Today is for

Today is your command centre for the day. It shows what needs attention, surfaces smart alerts about your business, and lets you run AI-powered tasks—all from one place.

Everything links directly to where the real work happens, so you can jump to the right screen without hunting through menus.

Your first sign-in

Right after you create an account, Okinta walks you through a short setup: your name, your business name, and a one-line description of what you do. That creates your first workspace before you reach the dashboard.

This is separate from the Getting started checklist on Today—that checklist appears once you are inside your workspace and nudges you toward email, strategy, contacts, and the rest.

Getting started checklist

When you first join, Today shows a Getting started checklist. It walks you through the key setup steps: company profile, email connection, strategy, contacts, products, and pages (for owners), or exploring Brain, projects, audience, and team chat (for members).

A progress bar shows how far you've come. Click any step to go there directly, use the small skip icon on a step you don't need, or hit Skip onboarding to hide the whole checklist at once.

Once all steps are done or skipped, the checklist disappears and your AI Growth Engine takes centre stage.

AI Growth Engine — your AI task hub

AI Growth Engine is where your AI assistant does real work inside your workspace. Give it a prompt and it takes multi-step actions for you—drafting emails, creating contacts, saving content, updating products, and more.

The left panel shows your active task queue. Each item is either an AI Automation (with a Fix with AI button) or a Manual Task (with a Mark done button). Click Create Task to add something new.

When your queue is empty, you'll see You're all caught up—a good nudge to set up your next automation.

Along the top of Today you'll see quick stats: open priority actions, pending follow-ups, and active AI automations at a glance.

Priority actions and business alerts

Your task queue mixes manual tasks with smart business alerts—things like uncontacted leads, overdue invoices, stuck deals, low stock, disconnected email, or open support tickets.

Alerts show an urgency badge (Critical, High, Medium, or Low) and a button that takes you straight to where you fix the issue.

Use Hide for now to snooze an alert for 24 hours, or Delete permanently if it's not useful to you. Snoozed alerts come back if the underlying issue is still there.

Drag rows to reprioritise your queue—put what matters most at the top.

Creating an AI task

Click Create Task and choose AI Automation (the default). Write a clear prompt describing what you want done—the AI picks the right tools and steps automatically.

Choose Run now to trigger it immediately, or Schedule to set a start time and make it repeat (daily, weekly, monthly, and more).

For power users: expand Advanced: predefined steps to lock in the exact actions the AI must take in order. Most people get great results with a clear prompt alone.

10 automations to try right now

Open Create Task, choose Schedule, set a recurring time, and paste one of these prompts. The AI handles it in the background every time it runs.

1 — Reply drafts for new leads (weekdays at 9:00 AM) — "List contacts with status lead added in the last 2 days. For each one, save a personal reply draft in Audience → Conversations—warm, helpful, using our Brain voice."

2 — Morning briefing note (weekdays at 9:00 AM) — "List my open tasks for today and new leads from the last 2 days. Create a Brain note called Morning briefing with simple bullets: what is urgent, who I should follow up with, and what can wait until tomorrow."

3 — Email catch-up reminder (weekdays at 9:00 AM) — "Create a Brain note called Emails to answer today. List my pending tasks that mention a client or supplier, and remind me to check Audience → Conversations for any messages still waiting on a reply."

4 — Stale quote follow-ups (Mondays at 8:00 AM) — "List draft quotes older than 14 days. Create one follow-up task per quote with the client name in the title."

5 — Welcome new leads (every day at 10:00 AM) — "Find contacts added in the last 7 days with status lead. Save a welcome reply draft for each in Audience → Conversations using our brand voice from Brain."

6 — Weekly blog post (Tuesdays at 7:00 AM) — "Write a draft blog post on a topic that fits our Brain strategy. Save it as a content item I can review and publish."

7 — Late invoice reminders (Mondays at 9:00 AM) — "List issued invoices that are still unpaid and due more than 7 days ago. Create a task for each one to send a friendly payment reminder."

8 — Friday project check-in (Fridays at 4:00 PM) — "List active projects. For any project not updated this week, create a task for me to review progress before the weekend."

9 — Meeting prep (weekdays at 8:30 AM) — "List today's calendar events. Create a Brain note with one short prep line per meeting: who it is with, the goal, and what I should decide."

10 — Re-engage quiet prospects (1st of each month at 10:00 AM) — "List contacts with status prospect added more than 30 days ago. Save a helpful check-in reply draft for each in Audience → Conversations—friendly, not pushy."

The more specific your prompt, the better. Name real client types, time frames, or products. Fill out Brain first so the AI knows your voice and strategy.

AI Growth Engine creates drafts and tasks—it never sends anything for you. Review everything before hitting send.

Running and tracking tasks

Click Run now on any AI task to start it immediately. A live log shows each action as it happens so you can follow along step by step. Completed runs are saved to history.

Recurring tasks run automatically on their schedule. Use the toggle switch on any recurring task to pause or resume it at any time.

Manual tasks

Switch to Manual Task when you want to track work you or a team member will do by hand. Assign it to anyone on your team using the team selector.

When the work is finished, click Mark done on the row—the task is completed and leaves your queue. Click the row itself to open and edit the task details.

AI suggestions

On the right side of Today you'll find AI Suggestions—ready-made prompts based on common growth actions. Tap one to open a pre-filled task form so you can tweak and run it in seconds.

Where to go next

Use Brain to give the AI richer context about your business, Projects for bigger cross-team initiatives, Statistics for charts and numbers, and Audience to manage leads and conversations.
